A small expedition paddling through the jungle of Costa Rica. I was out of practice and feeling a little shaky, but kayak has got to be the easiest and best way to explore the jungle.
siberian sayan, kitoy and urik rivers - aUGUST 2018
Vodka, bears and broken boats. The locals thought two Euro paddlers coming over to the Kitoy was crazy - and when a Siberian reckons you’re crazy you probably should listen. Max and my trip down the Kitoy was nerve wracking but successful, and then after we were joined by Mark and Leanne for the Urik.
Lord of the Flies, the ounasjoki river - juNE 2017
Two newbie kayakers joined Duncan and I for a 300km excursion along the Ounasjoki River in Finnish Lapland. Sadly Santa Claus was not spotted, and quite why anyone with flying reindeer would choose to base themselves in this mosquito funpark is beyond me...
Crossing Nepal: China to India - march 2017
Starting from the earthquake ruined village of Kodari; Leanne, Hari and I paddled our way for around 400km from Friendship Bridge to the Koshi Barrage. The hardest paddling of my career soon gave way to big volume rapids and beautiful sandy beaches, the huge planning effort more than rewarded.
Nepal - january to april 2017
I spent four months in Nepal working as a photoboater and safety kayaker for the local rafting companies. I was genuinely cynical at first, but by the end of my time there the country was like a second home and I felt genuinely dislocated to leave it behind. tara gorge, montenegro - june 2016
Tara Gorge was without doubt the best paddling I've ever done. Crystal clear water, brilliant sunshine and great company from my girlfriend Leanne made for a fantastic trip. I'll definitely be heading back one day.
Kayaking Greece’s Canyons - march 2016
My first proper white water kayaking expedition. Doctor Dave, Hannah and Tim joined me in Greece to paddle remote multi-day rivers in deep gorges.
ARDECHE GORGE, FRANCE - AUGUST 2014
Fran was free for a few days before starting teaching training and flew out to meet me in France to kayak the Ardeche. The river was busy but beautiful - the naturist beach being something of a surprise!
